MILICA ŽIVANOVIĆ (she/her) is a Serbian screenwriter and creator based in Berlin. She tells stories about people who cross boundaries—geographical, moral, emotional, and, not infrequently, legal ones.
Born in Belgrade during the Yugoslav Wars and raised in a family amid social and historical upheavals, she came into contact at an early age with the criminal underworlds that emerged during that time. She has lived in Germany since 2016—first in Munich and now in Berlin—and has thus also experienced a different side of Europe firsthand.
Her work primarily spans the genres of crime, fast-paced thrillers, gangster epics, heists, and historical fiction. Milica draws inspiration from worlds she knows well and writes about characters torn between conflicting loyalties, for whom placing their trust in the wrong person can change everything.
Milica is an alumna of SERIAL EYES, Torino SeriesLab, and MIDPOINT, and has been mentored by leading industry professionals from the U.S. and Europe.
In Germany, she worked in writers’ rooms for major streaming platforms and collaborated with production companies such as Gaumont, Mia Wallace / Wild Bunch, StickUp Films / Iconoclast, TV60 / Goldkind, Lailaps Films, Weydemann Bros., and Arkanum Pictures. Her creative collaborations include directors Sophie Linnenbaum and Tamara Denić.
Milica speaks German fluently, writes her screenplays in English, and develops and pitches projects for the German, European, and international markets. As a staff writer, she works in both German and international writers’ rooms.
