For me, acting means continuously questioning and experiencing within a safe creative space. It is the constant attempt to rethink what it means to be "human." The collaborative process of creating a film or theater piece keeps expanding… and this exploration does not end with the performance itself. It continues endlessly in the new thoughts and perspectives that emerge from it. A deep conversation with humanity.

About

Yekaterina (Katharina) Nesytowa (she/her) was born in 1985 in what was then East Berlin. She spent the first five years of her life in Moscow and grew up bilingual in German and Russian. She has been acting in independent theatre groups since her youth and took her first steps in front of the camera at an early age. From 2005 to 2009, she studied acting at the University of Music and Theatre in Hanover. During her studies, she already took part in theatre performances at the Studio Theatre and Schauspiel Hannover. Her first TV engagements began in 2007. The turning point came in 2010 when she was cast in IM ANGESICHT DES VERBRECHENS, directed by Dominik Graf. From 2021-2022, Nesytowa played the leading role of the Rostock chief inspector "Tanja Wilken" in the ZDF crime series BREISGAU.

Most recently, the versatile actress was in front of the camera for the international Netflix series HEVELIUS (AT) and we were able to see her in the title role of the ratings-strong ZDF political thriller DIE WHISTLEBLOWERIN (director: Elmar Fischer) in prime time.
