ZERO PILNIK (pronoun: them/they) was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. Zero was born with stage experience, as their mother was a ballerina and their grandmother a pianist. As a citizen of the world, they have already lived in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Český Krumlov. Since 2018, however, Berlin has been the center of their life. As one of the core members of the city- and scene-renowned VENUS BOYS, Zero shows their versatility and plays with performative masculinity. In 2017, they were awarded the Tim Disney Prize for Excellence in Storytelling Arts for the play PEOPLE WHO LOVE MOVE MOUNTAINS and received fellowships from the Academy of Arts (2021), LABA Belin (2021), and flausen+ Young Artists in Residency (2020). Zero received their degree in Acting with a minor in Creative Writing from the California Institute of the Arts and is a graduate of the National Theater Institute. In June 2023, Zero was part of the "Seriencamp Conference" competition as a screenwriter with BRUTES, a dystopian queer western serial, and has pitched as part of the "Writers' Vision Pitch" of the "Seriencamp Story Exchange" platform. The projects, carefully curated by the "Seriencamp Advisory Board", represented the best selection from submissions from over 20 different countries.

Im Juni 2023 war Zero mit BRUTES, einem dystopischen, queeren Western-Serienstoff als Drehbuch-Autor:in Teil des „Seriencamp Conference“-Wettbewerbs und hat Pitch im Rahmen des „Writers‘ Vision Pitch“ der „Seriencamp Story Exchange“-Plattform vorgetragen. Die vom „Seriencamp Advisory Board“ sorgfältig kuratierten Projekte repräsentierten die beste Auswahl aus Einreichungen aus über 20 verschiedenen Ländern.
