ZERO PILNIK (pronoun: he/they) was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. Zero was born with stage experience, as his mother was a ballerina and his grandmother a pianist. As a citizen of the world, he has already lived in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Český Krumlov. Since 2018, however, Berlin has been the centre of his life. As one of the core members of the city- and scene-renowned VENUS BOYS, Zero shows his changeability and plays with performative masculinity.
In 2017, he was awarded the Tim Disney Prize for Excellence in Storytelling Arts for his play PEOPLE WHO LOVE MOVE MOUNTAINS and has received fellowships from the Academy of Arts (2021), LABA Belin (2021) and flausen+ Young Artists in Residency (2020). Zero received his degree in Acting with a minor in Creative Writing from the California Institute of the Arts and is a graduate of the National Theater Institute.
